Paris. When I think of Paris, I always associate it with dreams, love and romance. I never thought being alone in this romantic city can be as fun as I’ve imagined.
It is by chance that I have to travel alone in Paris. I need to go to the British embassy so this leaves me wandering alone in the “The City of Love”, but its most famous is “La Ville
Paris in your hand. Where to go and what to ride. |
I went first to Palace of Versailles or simply Versailles because this is the place I haven’t seen in my first visit with my then fiancé. It is a royal château in the Île-de-France region of France. In French it is the Château de Versailles. As far as I know, this palace is the center of political power in the past and the home of the royal family. The entrance is free except for the museum.
It was gloomy that day. As soon as I entered, I stopped for a while to admire the surroundings. I was like… this is just a dream, and now I am here. I suddenly remember those teenage dreams to be in Paris someday. Now I know dreams really are reality. 🙂 I walked and walked and stopped to capture the moments. There are lots of tourists around you will never get bored. I opted getting timer shots from my camera but there are lots of people around willing to help you take your photos. It is also a fact that a lot of people are also “solo travellers”. You’ll find them everywhere. I guess you would appreciate travelling alone if you are single because maybe, just maybe you’ll find your significant other and you’ll never travel alone in your life. Ok! I’m starting my hopeless romantic side again. 🙂

I stayed in Versailles for like two hours. Reading all the signs, checking the restaurants inside and walking through the maze gardens and just breathing the love and romance that is around.
My next stop is of course Eiffel tower. I already had the chance to go to the top so this time, I just stayed around since I don’t want to pay the entrance fee and it rained already. For solo traveller and second timer, still I am mesmerized by the tower. It is indeed love.

After Eiffel, I rode a tube again to Louvre the famous Louvre museum. It is easy to travel alone in Paris. You’ll never get lost.

Unfortunately, my camera battery went out and so my mobile. I continue to walk and explore Paris alone until I crave for food. I realized, I didn’t have anything for lunch. Paris is just so beautiful to forget lunch. And because I am afraid my train will leave me any moment, I had a quick meal at KFC and rushed to the train station grabbed a starbucks coffee and then boarded my train to Nancy.
I had a fulfilling and adventurous day. Alone in Paris is also discovering things about yourself in this tempting, beautiful and magical city of love and romance.
Au revoir!
